I'm Back!

1 min read
Sorry for the absence, friends. I just returned from a week of celebration in honor of my 2 year anniversary with my lovely spouse. It was very relaxing and inspiring to say the least. We had a great time, and many thank you's to everyone who sent us their best wishes and congratulations.

Over the week I had several ideas for new images that you'll likely be seeing posted sometime in the near future. Also, we can't forget the WIPs laying in wait to jump me when I walk into my studio. I'm sure they would be less than pleased to be left alone on the shelf for any longer than they have been! Lol.

So, keep your eyes open, friends. There are many goodies coming your way!

Size matters...

So, I decided to submit some of my art for print here for convenience sake rather than just sell on fineartamerica(dot)com. I'll admit to being a bit ambivalent about that, since the artist percent is so much smaller here. However, I am hoping that the amount of sales off-sets some of the loss I'm taking with this move. I was sad to see that some of my uploads aren't large enough for print here (even though testing at FineArt showed that they printed just fine there). Anyone have any idea how this could be?

Anyway, so it's pretty clear that the theme for today is BIGGER! That's something I can definitely do - especially with my digital art. So, step one was to gather all my blank discs and flash drives that aren't already being taken up with other projects, and prep them for storage. Normally I keep backups of my work anyway, but since I'll be scaling up in size I want to make sure I have plenty of free space starting out. (I'm a bit OCD about that, I guess.)

So my question is: What exactly is the cut-off size for DA to print material?

True to my Gemini nature, I'm bouncing back and forth among various mediums right now. I've been having a lot of fun playing with digital art, but on the other hand there are still a lot of things I want to do with oil paints and plain ol' pen and paper. I can't say I've stayed with any one type of art (ie abstract, realism, etc). It's all just so fascinating to me.

Speaking of which, I have several pieces in progress right now. Unfortunately it'll be a bit before they are uploaded, as I'm taking next week off to celebrate my anniversary. However, there are already completed pieces that I'll be uploading until then.
